Our Story

Two careers, one persistent problem.

Moving & Living was founded by John L. Heithaus and Renita Charrlin, two accomplished entrepreneurs and industry veterans with more than 70 years of combined experience spanning residential real estate, corporate relocation, global mobility, technology, and consumer services.

Throughout their careers, John and Renita witnessed the same persistent challenge from different perspectives: moving remains unnecessarily complicated.

Consumers must navigate a maze of disconnected websites, service providers, decisions, and deadlines. And even after moving day, the work of establishing a home and connecting with a new community is far from finished.

They saw an opportunity to rethink the entire experience.

By combining John's expertise in real estate technology and digital marketplaces with Renita's extensive background in relocation and global mobility, they created Moving & Living.

Their vision is simple: one destination to help people move, settle in, and live better.

He has held executive leadership positions with prominent industry organizations, including Bright MLS, Cartus, Monster.com, and SentriLock, and has contributed to the development and growth of innovative real estate technology businesses.

Throughout his career, John has focused on connecting consumers, businesses, and technology in ways that simplify complex transactions and create better customer experiences.

He also brings extensive start-up experience with multiple exits, including successful ventures in the home services industry.

As co-founder of MovingAndLiving™, John brings a combination of industry knowledge, entrepreneurial experience, and a vision for transforming the way people access services throughout the homeownership, renting, and relocation journey.

Her background spans corporate relocation, employee mobility, real estate services, relocation benefits, and technology-enabled consumer solutions.

Renita previously served as CEO of HR&Relo Advisors, providing consulting and strategic guidance on global mobility programs, workforce relocation, and employee benefits.

She also co-founded Employee HomeView, an innovative technology platform designed to connect consumers with real estate, moving, financing, and related services through a single destination.

Holding the Senior Certified Relocation Professional (SCRP) and Senior Global Mobility Specialist (SGMS) designations, Renita brings specialized industry expertise and an understanding of the personal and practical challenges associated with relocation.

She also brings extensive start-up experience with multiple exits, including successful ventures in the home services industry.

At MovingAndLiving™, she applies that experience to helping create a more seamless, consumer-friendly journey — from the first decision to move through the process of making a new place feel like home.
